Since this video has been made i have replaced a remanufactured turbo it drove fine for about 20 miles but smoked a few times and i could hear some sort of grinding noise and jerky gear change but no engine warning light or error message till today Engine Management light popped up.
Once you stop, turn the engine off for a little while and restart the problem goes away but comes back after car has warmed up some time later.
W204 C250 - DPF Pressure Sensor Fault
I would really appreciate if someone can help me with this or put me in the right direction. My location is Manchester UK. Are you sure your DPF Filter isn't blocked also was it the correct turbo you had fitted? Paddymcc posts months.
Had a similar issue before which was a pressure sensor failure in the dpf exhaust section. Stegel 1, posts months. My CLS k miles very occasionally perhaps twice a year exhibits the flat, no acceleration fault although it can be made to accelerate by changing down manually which, like your car, disappears when turned off and on. I just live with it, given how infrequently it occurs, but research suggests it may be caused by the exhaust back pressure sensor - I will swap it over one day as it is pretty inexpensive.
The inlet port shut down motor also dies on these engines as it lives beneath a poor oil seal in the inlet tract that drips oil on it, which produces similar "flat" performance but the code this produces is pretty distinctive although escapes me now and from memory the description doesn't tally with the ones you gave given.
Early OM engines had problems with exhaust manifolds breaking up internally and destroying the turbo. I had the exhaust manifolds changed as a precaution - did the removed turbo show any damage internally that could be due to this? If so, and the manifolds are steadily breaking up, you could have damaged the new one. As the previous poster said, are you sure it is the correct turbo? Was the actuator changed as well - these need to be programmed to suit the turbo.
We also run a E CDI - this whistled when my wife's steady driving allowed the vanes to clog up - on the advice of the MB mobile technician, turbo cleaner and an Italian tune up cured that. It could be your car has a few issues, so I'm afraid it is a process of elimination.
I suggest getting it on a Star machine for diagnosis as generic code readers don't necessarily pinpoint the problem.Dodge Sprinter 2. Dodge Sprinter 3. I don't know if was the NCT's testing procedures that caused or triggered the situation, or if it is just a coincidence. In any case, I connected an OBD2 scanner and the following fault code is appearing: "P - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High Location Bank 1 " I have read the values from the ECU with the Torque App on my smart phone, and I could see that very scattered data values were appearing for the intake air temperature: In degrees Celscius, 25,25, 23, 25,24,17, 24, 12, Initially, the check engine light would disappear for a while, but would reappear the following day.
As a first step, I investigated to find out where this sensor is located. From what I can gather it is incorporated into the mass airflow sensor unit incidentally, there is also a manifold absolute pressure or MAP sensor incorporated into this unit. I sprayed electrical contact cleaner through the mass airflow unit from both directions, but mostly from the direction where air from the air filter would have been flowing through the unit.
I reinstalled the unit and reconnected the electrical plugs. However, I am still getting the orange check engine light. And it is persisting now from a day-to-day basis. The last time I checked with the Torque application, the intake air temperature reading was fixed at Incidentally, the mass air flow and manifold absolute pressure sensors readings seem sensible and fluctuating when I depress the accelerator.
I suspect that I may have to replace the entire mass airflow unit a few hundred euros. Another possibility, could be the intake air temperature sender unit, the cost of which is more modest - about 50 euros. I havn't been able to find out what this sender unit is, what it does or where it is located. I purchased the Haynes manual for the E Class Diesel, and it does not mention this sender unit. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kev. There is no way that the MAF can put the lamp on. What happens is the MAF when failing gives incorrect fueling. The 02 sensor shifts from its stored range and this turns the lamp on. If the MAF is failing in its early stages then a good hard fast run may turn the lamp out.Digi plan 2019

My Car: Mercedes C W - 75k FMBSH - Mainly do short trips as of late Which I know it not good for a diesel So, I've done a quick search through old posts and I saw a couple of threads relating to my issue but no where near as many as I thought I would as apparently it's quite a common problem.
And none which actually tells me where the sensor is. Basically my issue is my car will put itself into safe mode it done it once about four months ago I restarted the car and it was fine ever since so I classed it as a one off however as of yesterday it's a reoccurring problem. I took it to a local indie who scanned it with a Snapon tool and it's come up with P which is the DPF sensor. I was wondering if anyone could kindly point me in the right direction as to where it would be on my car?
I've heard lots of different locations which I am guessing is down to people having different engine variants. Is he trying to go in without lube on me with this one as from what I understand it's a simple case of plugging in and clearing the fault codes - which I can do with my basic OBD2 scanner. CowleyStJames Active Member. In my case, W C, it was replaced along with pipes being cleaned through. The car was then set on a forced regen using Star. I've found the sensor, bit of a tight squeeze though due to my Fred Flintstone like hands but it looks relatively straight forward.
My DPF regenerated itself miles ago so for me hopefully it should be just a case of swapping the sensor. Hiya, I'm based in Kingston upon Thames.Welcome to world's most trustworthy automotive forum. The auto repair labor rates vary by location, your vehicle's make and model, and even your engine type. This diagnostic trouble code DTC P will set if the boost pressure sensor signal is above the predicted range. P Mercedes-benz Description The boost pressure sensor responds to pressure changes in the intake manifold.MAP Sensor Diagnosis and Understanding Function- Pt1
This pressure is created by the turbocharger and changes with accelerator pedal position APP and engine speed. The engine control module ECM uses this information to assist in diagnosis of the barometric pressure BARO sensor and to provide engine overboost protection.
The boost pressure sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, a low reference circuit, and a signal circuit. The engine control module ECM supplies 5 volts to the boost pressure sensor on the 5-volt reference 2 circuit, and provides a ground on a low reference circuit.
The boost pressure sensor provides a signal to the ECM on a signal circuit relative to the pressure changes. The ECM monitors the boost pressure sensor signal for voltage outside of the normal range. The ECM calculates a predicted value for the boost pressure sensor. The ECM then compares the predicted value to the actual signal. Get Access to Factory Service Manuals. Need more help? Have you replaced any parts? Any information is appreciated. Repair Importance Level: 3. Why is the Engine Light ON? Home - About AutoCodes. Posted and Edit by AutoCodes. This controls, as the name suggests, the fuel rail pressure.
It relies on the seal made between a single small O-ring which is backed by a split fibre backing ring. What happens over time is that the O-ring wears and often fails allowing pressurised fuel to bypass the valve and ebb away the required running pressure that the injectors need. Often the problem becomes more noticeable once the engine is warm and poor starting results.
Usual symptoms for this can be laboured starting when warm and occasional non starting, if the fuel rail cannot maintain the required minimum of approximately bar at crank to allow the injectors to fire. If it is possible to monitor rail pressure using Live-Data, you may see the rail pressure dancing between and bar.
Instability of pressure when holding a steady throttle will be the clue as to a problem with the fuel pressure control. Remove the two opposing pins on the regulator flange left and right as fitted.
Keeping the device clean, remove both the green O-ring and fibre backing ring from the tip of the regulator and replace with new components. Refit the regulator assembly to the rail. It makes it easier if you have the left hand threaded pin in place in the regulator flange mounting hole, before offering it into place.
Back of the fuel rail where the regulator mounts normally hidden from view. It is important to note that a failing fuel injector can also deprive the fuel rail of its operating pressure. Intake Air Temperature Sensor error on E220 CDI
Once tightened correct fuel delivery is restored. May be worth investigating. Also be doubly sure you can see no air in the hard plastic hoses from the low pressure pump to the HP pump, if so look no further!
Once that is sorted fuel filter return valve or delivery pipe O rings you could find that is all that is needed to get you sorted.
